Hello, I’m Beki – founder of Haining Garden Accounting, and a straight-talking accountant with over 15 years of experience supporting businesses and charities. I started this practice because I wanted to offer something different: practical, down-to-earth financial support without jargon or judgement. Just real conversations, helpful insights, and numbers that make sense.

The Haining Garden Life
Haining Garden Accounting is just one part of life here at Haining Garden Cottage – our wee patch of countryside where we’re gradually shaping a life that’s more self-sufficient, more hands-on, and more rooted in the everyday. When I’m not talking tax or helping clients untangle their numbers, you’ll find me in the garden, gathering flowers, collecting eggs, or topping up the honesty box with whatever is in season.
We’ve got big dreams for more homegrown flowers, veg boxes, and sharing more of what we raise and grow with the local community. It’s all about simplicity, quality and keeping things real – whether that’s in business or out in the field.
My Background (In A Nutshell)
I’m a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA, CGMA) and a registered CIMA Member in Practice (MiP). My journey in accounting began in the knitwear mills in Hawick, where I trained on the job surrounded by spreadsheets, stock takes, and the comforting hum of industry. Since then, I’ve worked across practice and industry – including time in London at a fast-paced exciting events company and a national charity.
When we moved back to the Borders, I stepped into senior finance roles – including my most recent position as Head of Finance and Operations at an environmental charity. Over the years, I’ve worked as a management accountant, a finance director, and everything in between – but what has stayed consistent is my calm, people-first approach to numbers, and a belief that good financial guidance can change how a business runs.
